DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS & PRINCIPAL'S ASSISTANT

LANDER GROFF

The last couple of years have been a roller coaster for our family. For so long, we were strong advocates for the public school system, and believed our children would be given the right tools to grow up in the 'real world.' We never considered private school for them until 2020 when everything really began to change. It was a slow boil for years, until it wasn’t any more. We quickly saw our kids drowning in a sea of confusion, doubt and uncertainty. Not only regarding who they are as individuals, but what their purpose even was. Our family values were constantly undermined. And educationally, they were getting more and more behind and no one seemed to notice or even care. They (the public school) had to keep to their schedules and always be moving forward. It was time for a change.

Cue The Academy of Snohomish. I met Paulette during a petition signing for R-90 and we immediately clicked. Her core values, her moral compass, her joy and fervor for life reminded me of how we are called to live and what/who we desire for our kids to be surrounded by. It was no accident for us to meet!

I am honored to be a part of this school and my three children have never felt more loved, attended to, educated, and challenged in a school environment. I have such a deep desire for not only my kids, but all kids to know their own worth. Growing up, I struggled tremendously in school and in family life. God has brought me to a place where He is able to use all of my struggles and successes to better the lives of these kids and this school.

I graduated from Central Washington University with a major in Journalism and a minor in Philosophy and Religious Studies. My passions are to write, teach and walk alongside your kids as they become a part of something bigger.

We are a family of 7 (if you include our dogs!). We have three kids and two coltrievers. My husband has worked for the Bothell Fire Department for the last 22 years. When we both aren’t working, we love spending time together. We love hiking, soccer, baseball and off roading in our jeeps! We could not be more thankful for our forever school at The Academy. There is so much peace that comes with knowing our kids are there. I cannot wait to meet more families who make the choice to be a part of The Academy family!
