WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic (universal) Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
ON MARRIAGE & SEXUALITY
In order to clearly indicate our position on an extensive list of issues related to marriage and human sexuality, The Academy of Snohomish has chosen to affirm the Nashville Statement. This statement, based on Scripture, addresses issues including premarital, extramarital, and homosexual relationships, gender alteration or identification, as well as physical disorders related to gender. ON HUMAN LIFE
We believe that human life begins with conception and that life is to be protected as all human life and is to be seen as sacred. We believe that such terms as “viability” which are used to judge the quality of life are only judgments that God can make. We believe that a person becomes a person then at the moment of conception.
