Why We Do What We Do
We believe that every parent every Christian parent desires support in the upbringing of the children. We believe every student has a God given gift and a potential to achieve something great. We believe that time is a key component in enabling children/students to unlock and discover and refine that gift. We believe that students have power to impact others in their community, nationally and even globally if that's where God takes them.
What We Do
The Academy of Snohomish is a K-12 Christian based school with teacher facilitators in a brick and mortar facility offering an online curriculum in our 3-12 Academy and a more traditional class setting in our K-2 Academy. In partnership with Valley View Christian School, we are able to provide families with the best of many worlds by combining distance learning, the freedom of homeschool, classroom routine and an environment that promotes productivity and independence. Our abbreviated schedule gives your student the gift of time in their schedule to pursue education and mentoring with other highly qualified providers. It also gives students time to practice, create, and pursue learning beyond the classroom! Students use Ignitia, a media-rich online Christian curriculum, to log on and do their core classes with the supervision and aid of a qualified teacher facilitator. Ignitia offers the latest digital technology available in the Christian market while holding true to traditional values founded on faith, and prepares students to be successful in a multimedia age. Core classes are held in our facility Monday through Thursday mornings, while Fridays are reserved for grading for teachers and homework for students, school field trips, and personal student time that can be used as the student and parent wishes.
Our Mission and Our Vision
Our mission is to equip and assist parents in the education of their children and to enable students to pursue what they are most passionate about as they impact our culture for Christ. The Academy provides the time in your child’s schedule for them to pursue education and mentoring with other highly qualified providers and time to practice, create, and pursue learning beyond the classroom! We are giving your student the gift of time! Have you ever thought about what you could do with three extra hours in your day that would ordinarily be committed to something else? This is what this school is offering your student while providing them with a rigorous education. It is a unique gift for you and your student to decide how to use opportunity to do amazing things. Our vision is to equip a new generation of Christ-followers who are determined to change the culture for Christ rather than be changed by it. We have set a new standard for what we mean by “the real world.” We want to challenge our students to become outstanding leaders and instead of students who just blend in with the current culture! It is the vision of The Academy of Snohomish to impact culture. We wish to call our students to a higher standard! It is our desire to partner with parents and the church body to raise young people who are strong in their faith and have respect, honor and decency in their conduct and speech and to raise a new generation of leaders who can impact our community for God's glory!
What We Believe
Nicene Creed We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried; and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets; and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. We believe that human life begins with conception and that life is to be protected as all human life and is to be seen as sacred. We believe that such terms as "viability" which are used to judge the quality of life are only judgements that God can make. We believe that a person becomes a person then at the moment of conception. Ps.139:13-17; Gen.9:6; Ps.127:3; Ex.21:22-25 In order to clearly indicate our position on an extensive list of issues related to marriage and human sexuality, The Academy of Snohomish has chosen to affirm the Nashville Statement. This statement, based on Scripture, addresses issues including premarital, extramarital, and homosexual relationships, gender alteration or identification, as well as physical disorders related to gender https://cbmw.org/nashville-statement.
